In castings of nodular iron, also known as ductile iron, failure to synchronise controlled cooling conditions with casting speed can prevent the ferritic microstructure limits requested particularly by European customers from being achieved. Alternative solutions such as alloying the casting or slow cooling, intended to minimise the risk of customer returns, can adversely affect costs and substantially reduce profit margins. Even with these efforts, results are not completely reliable. Termosan addresses these problems for its export-oriented customers in the casting industry, helping to achieve satisfaction and encouraging them to accept large orders.
